Story of the Week - Lake Mills L-Cats

The Lake Mills L-Cats started the season with an 8-2 record, but it wasn't easy.  In December, the L-Cats were hit by untimely concussions to starting point guard, Sam Herrington and post player, Jess Powers.  That's when Mother Nature gave the L-Cats a break.

Poor weather postponed consecutive games against Lodi and Cambridge, giving the L-Cats time to return to full strength before hosting the 9-1 Columbus Cardinals and Coach Jeff Schweitzer on January 23.

Lake Mills beat the visiting Cardinals 48-37 with excellent team defense and double-doubles from their starting post players:  Powers with 11 points and 13 rebounds and Courtney Schmidt with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Congratulations to the L-Cats and Coach Mike Elles!
