Former Laker Kalee Whipple scores 45 points and makes ESPN's Top Ten Plays (Number 2). The Utah Utes went to four overtimes against TCU in a tough 105-96 loss. Whipple's buzzer beating 3ptr sent the game into a fourth overtime, the longest game in the Utes history. Good lucky Kalee and Utah in the upcoming Tournament.

News

Carol Cayo, a Laker during the 2008 season, was recently voted to Inside Wisconsin’s Top Five D-3 Girls basketball players. Carol is currently on a full academic scholarship at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).  Cayo was a member of the 2008 Wisconsin Lakers team that won the Nike Grand Oasis in Phoenix, AZ. She is a tremendous player and possesses a refuse to lose attitude.

Alana Cesarz was also featured in Inside Wisconsin’s magazine and was voted as one of the Top Five High School Girls basketball players. Alana, a 6’2 Junior from Delavan, has been in the Laker program for the past two seasons. She is a great player and has received multiple interests from Major D1 programs. Next year Alana will be making her college decision and she will be an impact player at the school she chooses.

Everyone knows about Alana’s basketball talent, but what gets over looked is her character and work ethic. Alana has as much impact off the floor as she does on it, and puts a lot of time into working on her game.

Congratulations Alana and Carol.

Wisconsin Lakers 17U White posted a perfect 6-0 record at the USJN tournament July 29-31 in the National Division. Beating other top ranked programs Indiana Wildcats, Full Package, Illinois Dream Team, Florida D.E.B.O., and Illinois Wolverines in pool play.
In the Championship game the Lakers faced Team Wisconsin - Samuels led by Nicole Griffin. Griffin was controlled by Alana Cesarz and Ashley Luke. Both held Griffin to under 10pts for the entire game.
On the offensive end the Lakers were led by Alana Cesarz and Marina Hartman. Without Emily Romdenne (away at her sister's wedding, congrats), Talyor Atkinson moved over to the point guard position and did a great job handling the ball and running our offense.
The Wisocnsin Lakers and Team Wisconsin game went down to the wire; until the Lakers pulled away at the end beating Team Wisconsin 64-51.
Marina Hartman and Ashley Luke were named to the All Star Team; and Alana Cesarz was named MVP. It was a great way to close out the season, the Wisconsin Lakers White finished the summer with an impressive 49-12 record.

Emily Romdenne called Head Coach Lynn Plett on Sunday afternoon to give her verbal to become a Griffon. Rom has spent the last two years playing with the Wisconsin Lakers U17 travel team. Emily is extremely fast and quick. She will fit right in with the Western Missouri State uptempo style of play.

The Laker point guard has a great skill set that will help her transition to college basketball game quickly. Her speed, and quickness is among the best ever to wear a Laker uniform.

During Rom's Laker career she helped lead the Lakers to a 95-25 record.

Congratulations to Emily and her family.
