Congratulations to 2017 5’10 G Kenzie Schmitz from Germantown on her commitment to NCAA Division 1 Miami Ohio from the MAC conference. Kenzie had multiple Division 1 offers but decided she wanted to be a Red Hawk. Everyone notices Kenzie for her athletic ability and strength but what gets lost is how hard she works to not only be the athlete that she is, but the basketball player that she is. Her ability to guard multiple positions, rebound, and score in a variety of ways is all from a lot of time she has put in to become a great player.
Miami is getting a very special talent, but they are getting an even more special young lady on and off the court. It has been a privilege getting to know and coach Kenzie the last two years. Looking forward to watching her finish out her Laker career in DC and Augusta with hopefully a National title to cap off a tremendous Laker career.
Below are our Top Ten High scorers so far in the High School season. Lots of Laker kids off to great starts early in the season, with many more to come!
Wisconsin Lakers BOP won the USJN Battle of the Programs on Saturday going 3-0 to take the title, with wins over Sky Diggs from Indiana, dominating Wisconsin Flight Elite Levy, and beating a good Lady Lightning team in the Championship. This is the second Battle of the Programs Championship for the club joining the 2011 team.
Lakers BOP also played three exhibition games going 2-1 losing to Midwest Elite Nike EYBL by 4 on Friday, on Sunday beating Indiana Elite big, and finishing the weekend beating Kentucky Legacy to finish the weekend 5-1. Proud of how hard the girls played.
Congratulations to all our commits this week! In the 2016 class we now have had a total of 11 commits so far with more to come! That’s more an any other 2 Wisconsin programs combined! It does matter who you play for……

Congratulations to Autumn Ogden a 5’10 2016 G from Monona Grove on her verbal commitment to North Dakota State from the Summit League. Autumn is one of the toughest and hardest working players I have seen come through the Laker program. Autumn will be a nursing major starting next Fall.
